When the racial violence of Charlottesville, VA. 2017 occurred, it really hit me how little progress we have made in racial relations over the years. As a firm believer in the Mandela philosophy below, I thought how powerful it would be if we read books daily to all of our children, from the very beginning, about Peace, Acceptance and Compassion (P.A.C.)
My Facebook post asking for children’s book recommendations for building a “Library of Love” for my grandchildren prompted my dear high school friend, Marc Middleton, founder and CEO of Growing Bolder Multi Media Co. to call me and say, “I have an idea.” That conversation resulted in the creation of The Granny P.A.C.™
I stalked children’s bookstores looking for children’s books (newborn through early elementary) with messages of P.A.C. that were illustrated well and that children, parents, grandparents, etc. would enjoy reading together. When I settled on my 3 favorite books, I contacted the authors to ask their permission to include their books in my Granny P.A.C. (GP) and they were thrilled! Trying to make it giftable for birthdays, baby showers, holidays, or just because you care, master designer Granny Lisa helped design my current burlap pac. And there you have it, The Granny P.A.C.™, created and curated for you, your family and friends to enjoy.

“No one is born hating another person because of the color of his skin, or his background or his religion. People must learn to hate, and if they can learn to hate, they can be taught to love, for love comes more naturally to the human heart than its opposite.”
